So here's what I did:ġ) Went to, chose the products I wanted, then went to the shopping cart to find the exact total of the order Ģ) still on, I clicked to purchase a U.S. Cash Star will accept PayPal from Canadian accounts. Home Depot uses a third-party e-commerce company (Cash Star) to sell and manage their e-gift card purchases. (Another side note.Should I have to work this hard to give Home Depot my business?!?!)įinally, I discovered a solution. I then tried HD's website to buy a gift card, but it wouldn't sell me one with the Canadian credit card. But she also said that I had to be there in person to purchase the gift card, because they can't sell me one over the phone with a Canadian card. (Quick side-question: Home Depot, really? I mean, do they not want our business? Think of the lost revenue, and worse still, the frustrated customer group who will write them off.but I digress.)įortunately, the employee I spoke with at HD mentioned that a gift card was one way to get around the problem. I even phoned the store directly and asked them to special order the item for me and have it brought into the store, but they wouldn't do it.they said they have to have full payment up front, and it must be done on a card with a US billing address (even though I can use my Canadian card in the store!.?). I tried paying with PayPal and was rejected because I'm a Canadian PayPal customer. I tried having the item shipped to the store, or shipped to a US address (a Kinek point near us), but the problem was that HD requires a US billing address for any credit card purchase so it refused my order every time. I'm right across the border, less than 45 minutes from the store. I was attempting to order something from (from Canada).
